Happy volunteers' week!

Councillor Stephen Morgan, Portsmouth’s Labour Leader and parliamentary candidate for Portsmouth South, is getting involved with national volunteers’ week to recognise the hard work and contribution volunteers make to the life of the city.
Volunteers’ week taking place between 1-7 June 2017 is an annual celebration of the fantastic contribution millions of volunteers make across our country.
The week also helps put small, local charities and community groups into the spotlight, helping them thrive and demonstrate the great work they do in our communities thanks to volunteers.
Cllr Stephen Morgan has volunteered in a number of local groups and charities across Portsmouth and popped into the Cascades for a volunteer fair today to meet local groups.
He said:
“Pompey should be proud about the energy, commitment, expertise and the benefits local charities bring to our communities.
There are thousands of volunteers and hundreds of local groups and charities across our city doing their bit to make life better for hard working families and the vulnerable in our communities.
I thank them for everything they do”.
