Stephen Morgan MP has congratulated a Portsmouth Hospital team on being nominated as the South East entry for the NHS Parliamentary Awards.
The city MP joined Alison Werfalli, Josh Clift and Charlotte Taphouse from the Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust Maternity Intelligent Automation Transformation Programme at the NHS Parliamentary Awards on Monday.
The Portsmouth-based team were nominated by Mr Morgan for the Nursing and Midwifery Award for their work implanting an innovative ‘digital first’ programme that has transformed maternity services for the better, delivering significant benefits to families and staff.
The annual NHS Parliamentary Awards offer a chance to celebrate NHS staff, carers and volunteers who go the extra mile to look after our loved ones when they are at their most vulnerable.
Earlier this year, Mr Morgan called for local nominees to enter the official NHS Parliamentary Awards in recognition of staff who have gone above and beyond the call of duty.
Commenting on the NHS Parliamentary Awards, Portsmouth South MP, Stephen Morgan said:
“The NHS Parliamentary Awards provide the chance to celebrate the NHS heroes who work incredibly hard to look after us and our loved ones when we need them.
“I was delighted to join Alison, Josh and Charlotte on Monday to speak about their innovative programme which has helped deliver better NHS services for Portsmouth people.
“It was a pleasure to congratulate them in person for their brilliant achievement of being nominated from the South East for the Nursing and Midwifery Award, and let them know they have done Portsmouth proud!”
Stephen Morgan has fiercely fought to protect Portsmouth’s NHS services and has made getting the NHS back on its feet one of his key priorities since being elected.
