By 4 April 2017No Comments

A new development named ‘Ivy Close’ is taking shape in the heart of our city. The £8.1m housing scheme is being built by Portsmouth contractors PMC.
51 flats and nine houses are planned by the council on the Blackfriars Close site will be completed next summer at which point the development will offer an additional 72 bedrooms compared to the ageing Arthur Pope House block which used to sit on the plot.
You can now watch the homes rising from the rubble in the new time lapse video.

Cllr Stephen Morgan, Portsmouth Labour’s housing spokesperson said:
“These new homes should help ease the housing crisis we see in our city and provide much needed housing for Portsmouth people.
At a time when there’s huge demand for good quality housing in the city, more must be done by government and this council to build more homes for local people”.
