Stephen Morgan MP is inviting constituents to attend the first of a series of pop-up events to share views and ideas on local and national concerns relating to protecting the natural environment.

It comes as the Portsmouth MP recently launched his Big Conversation summer listening campaign, aiming to provide constituents with an opportunity to have their say on the issues that matter to them, shaping Mr Morgan’s priorities for the year ahead.

The event will take place on Monday 21 August from 1-4pm at Canoe Lake, Southsea. No booking is required, and constituents are invited to drop in whenever is most convenient for them. A gazebo will be staffed by team members and volunteers with a range of interactive activities.

The event will provide constituents with an opportunity to discuss their views, ideas and concerns relating to protecting the natural environment in Portsmouth and across the country.

During the event, Mr Morgan will be asking constituents to share their views what Mr Morgan should be prioritising in Westminster, including:

  • Tackling dirty air
  • Accessible and affordable public transport
  • Better local recycling and waste services
  • Stopping sewage
  • Reducing plastic pollution
  • Protecting biodiversity

Commenting ahead of the event, the Portsmouth MP said:

“Protecting Portsmouth’s precious natural environment has been a key priority for me since entering Parliament.

That’s why I want to hear directly from constituents their local and national environmental concerns, and how we can work together to better preserve our environment for future generations.

I encourage constituents to attend this Big Conversation pop-up event to share their thoughts and what environmental issues I should be prioritising as their local Member of Parliament.”

Constituents unable to attend this event are encouraged to have their say by filling out Mr Morgan’s online survey here.
