Stephen Morgan announces 2024 Christmas Card winners

Stephen Morgan MP has announced the winners of his 2024 Christmas card competition for school-aged children, encouraging donations to The Roberts Centre.

The city MP visited the secondary school and primary school winners last week to present prizes at their respective schools of Fernhurst Junior School and St Edmund’s Catholic School.

The winner, Mia (Fenhurst), won first place for her drawing of a Portsmouth living room at Christmas. Jiong (St Edmund’s) claimed runner-up for his colourful drawing of the Portsmouth’s skyline at Christmas.

Young people across Portsmouth South were asked to send in their designs to his office for judging with hundreds of entries received from schools across the constituency.

The winning entry is featuring as the design for Stephen’s official Christmas card. The card is being sent to hundreds of individuals and organisations across the constituency and country, with a copies sent to His Majesty the King and the Prime Minister.

Commenting, Portsmouth South MP Stephen Morgan said:

“I am thrilled to announce the winners of this year’s Christmas card competition.

“Every year the quality of entries seems to get better and better from Portsmouth children and this year was no different.

“It was a pleasure to visit Fernhurst Junior School and St Edmund’s Catholic School to congratulate Mia and Jiong on their winning designs, and thank all children across Portsmouth for their brilliant entries.”

Mr Morgan is encouraging donations to The Roberts Centre as part of the competition.

The Roberts Centre have been working to improve the lives of children and families in Portsmouth for over 30 years by supporting families to enable them to provide the very best outcomes for their children.
