Stephen Morgan MP is inviting constituents to join him and Portsmouth Cycle Forum for a bike ride around the constituency on Sunday 4 August.
Following on from a successful Summer Cycle last year, this event will be another opportunity to discuss all things cycling related, including the environmental impact and what needs to be done to make the city more safe for cyclists.
The event will also provide an opportunity to learn more about the Portsmouth Cycle Forum which supports the needs of local cyclists.
Commenting ahead of the cycle, Portsmouth MP Stephen Morgan said:
“My annual Summer Cycle provides a great opportunity for Portsmouth people to enjoy a bike ride around the city and discuss all things cycling.
“Portsmouth Cycle Forum provide a fantastic resource for local people and will be able to answer their questions on how we can make our city more bike friendly.
“I warmly encourage new and seasoned local cyclists to come along and have their say on how we can work together to make Portsmouth’s transport infrastructure safer and more accessible for all.”
Mr Morgan has taken a range of actions to improve cycling accessibility in Portsmouth, including campaigning for active travel investments; tabling questions to the last Government on active travel funding; and meeting with active travel campaigners and cycling charities.
