Stephen Morgan, MP for Portsmouth South, and Amanda Martin, MP for Portsmouth North, are inviting Portsmouth people to attend a SEND roundtable due to take place later this month as part of the Government’s national SEND consultation.
This roundtable is providing an opportunity for attendees to not only discuss the recent SEND white paper and any thoughts they may have but also share their suggestions for the future of SEND support with both city MPs.
Mr Morgan and Ms Martin have pledged to feed back views to Government Ministers as part of the ongoing consultation, and hope to hear from SEND families of all backgrounds from across the city.
The event will take place Friday 17th April in Baffins between 2pm – 4pm, with the specific location being sent via email prior to the event once attendee booking has been confirmed.

Commenting, Stephen Morgan, MP for Portsmouth South, said:
“Labour remains committed to building an education system where every child in Portsmouth can achieve and thrive. We cannot do this without the insights and experiences of SEND families.
“Following this Government’s SEND White Paper, we are inviting Portsmouth people to a SEND roundtable where they will be able to discuss recent Government action and have their input into Labour’s vision for the future of our SEND system.”
Commenting, Amanda Martin, MP for Portsmouth North, said:
“We are calling on families in Portsmouth with SEND experience. The Tories left behind a ‘lose, lose, lose’ system in their own words. Labour has set out our plans for fixing it.
“Join me at my roundtable, then I’ll feed back your views to ministers as part of the consultation.”
