Stephen Morgan MP is inviting constituents to his next Cuppa and Chat event on Saturday 15 November to provide a space for local people to share their views on ending homelessness in Portsmouth.

This coffee morning, taking place from 10:30am to 12 noon, will also be attended by Michelle Jeffrey and Tania Marsh, the Business Development Manager and Chief Executive for the Society of St James respectively.

These attendees will share relevant information with constituents and participate in Q&A discussion chaired by Mr Morgan, using their experience and expertise as members of a local charity dedicated to preventing, relieving and ending homelessness within the region.

Over light refreshments, this event will offer attendees the opportunity to contribute to discussions on ending homelessness and be provided with crucial information by local experts within an informal setting.

Attendees will be able to share their relevant experiences, ideas and concerns on this matter, which Mr Morgan can take back to Westminster or raise with local authorities.

The event will be taking place in Old Portsmouth. Attendees will be notified of the venue ahead of the event.

Constituents can sign up to attend the coffee morning here.

Commenting on the upcoming event, Portsmouth South MP Stephen Morgan said:

“Every person deserves a roof over their head and permenent place to call home. But unfortuntely for too many that is not the case.

“Since being elected, tackling homelessness and rough sleeping have been a top priority for me and from speaking with Portsmouth people I know how passionately they also feel about this issue.

“That’s why I wanted to bring experts and local people together to discuss the action the government is taking to tackle this issue and what more we can do locally end homelessness once and for all.”

Mr Morgan recently gave his support to a £9.6 million injection to tackle homelessness and rough sleeping in our area.

This announcement comes on top of the Labour government’s almost £1 billion investment to tackle homelessness this year and includes the largest ever investment in prevention services, helping councils intervene early and stop homelessness before it happens.
