Stephen Morgan MP reaffirms commitment to protecting Portsmouth’s water ahead of latest action

Stephen Morgan MP is inviting constituents to join him at his latest Cuppa & Chat event to agree further action to improve the city’s water quality. 

The popular informal events provide an opportunity to hear from guest speakers as well as help shape the city MP’s priorities in Parliament. The event will take place on 14 March. 

Commenting, Stephen Morgan, MP for Portsmouth South, said: 

“Having grown up in Portsmouth myself, I have always been proud of our local beaches, which are cherished by many and help make our city special.  

“Because of this, I am also proud to be a part of a government that is absolutely committed to protecting our country’s lakes, rivers and coasts as part of their bold environmental agenda. 

“I strongly welcome sweeping reforms to existing water industry regulations recently announced by this Government. The White Paper will deliver a once-in-a-generation overhaul of the water system that protects Portsmouth’s waters.      

“This Cuppa & Chat event is a valuable opportunity to hear directly from constituents on their experiences and how we can work together to protect Portsmouth’s waters for many generations to come, to inform my future efforts and feed back in Parliament.” 

This Cuppa & Chat event will be taking place in Somerstown, between 10:30am and 12 noon, with attendees being notified of the venue ahead of time. 

The session will also be attended by a panel of representatives that will be sharing information and answering questions on this topic in an informal setting over light refreshments.
