Portsmouth MP celebrates contribution of city’s school caterers during National School Meals Week

By 11 November 2022No Comments

Stephen Morgan MP joined Craneswater Junior School pupils for lunch and thanked all catering staff across Portsmouth for their ‘invaluable’ work to provide meals to students.

It comes as LACA, the representative body for school caterers, marks National School Meals Week (NSMW) 2022.

NSMW aims to provide a chance for others to recognise and celebrate the tireless efforts of school caterers across the country who have continued to deliver great tasting, nutritious food to school children, despite the increasing pressure they face.

The Member of Parliament for Portsmouth South, Stephen Morgan, said:

“It’s been fantastic to have the opportunity to join Craneswater Junior students for lunch and thank catering staff for the crucial services they provide.

“It’s vital pupils get the nutrition they need to remain focused in class and get the most out of an often busy school day.

“Without the efforts of school catering staff, children’s experience in class simply wouldn’t be the same, so it’s so important we recognise and thank them for the role they play in the education of Portsmouth’s next generation.”
