Portsmouth a good location to set up business

By 1 December 2016No Comments

Portsmouth Labour has welcomed news that the city is in the top 20 of locations across the UK for starting up a small business.
A recent survey has shown the city came 16th in a study conducted by the business information website ‘Informi’.
The organisation studied information from 65 towns and cities across the UK including the density of small and medium sized businesses (SMEs), digital connectivity and house prices.
Cllr Stephen Morgan, Portsmouth Labour Leader said:
“We want to see more initiatives which encourage local jobs and strengthen the city’s economy.
Locally owned businesses help build strong communities, sustain our shopping centres, and contribute to the wider social and economic wellbeing of our city.
These latest survey findings are welcomed. They demonstrate that Portsmouth is a good location to establish a start up or grow your business, but also that there’s more that can be done to create conditions which encourage economic growth”.
