Have your say: Stephen’s Morgan MP’s Big Conversation on Caring for Our Local NHS

By 11 September 2023No Comments

Stephen Morgan MP is inviting constituents to attend the next of a series of pop-up events to share views and ideas on local and national concerns relating to caring for our local NHS.

It follows Mr Morgan’s two events on protecting Portsmouth’s precious environment and making our streets safer.

The events form part of Mr Morgan’s Big Conversation, a listening campaign providing constituents with an opportunity to have their say on the issues that matter to them, shaping the Portsmouth South MP’s priorities for the year ahead.

The next event will take place on Saturday 16 September 11AM-2PM, in Palmerston Road.

No booking is required, and constituents are invited to drop in whenever is most convenient for them. A gazebo will be staffed by team members and volunteers with a range of interactive activities.

The event will provide constituents with an opportunity to discuss their views, ideas and concerns relating to making our streets safer, with a number of local agencies present to give advice.

During the event, attendees will be invited to share their views on what Mr Morgan should be prioritising in Westminster, including:

  • Finding a GP
  • Finding a dentist
  • Getting an appointment
  • Accessing mental health support
  • Waiting for treatment

Commenting ahead of the event, the City MP said:

“13 years of this Conservative Government has left our NHS on its knees, with A&E waiting times at their worst on record, and the shortage of GPs and Dentists reaching critical levels.

Portsmouth patients deserve better. I want to hear directly from constituents on how they think our NHS can be better cared for, to enable them to receive the care they need.

I encourage constituents to attend this Big Conversation pop-up event to share their thoughts on what I should be prioritising as their local Member of Parliament.”

Constituents unable to attend this event are encouraged to have their say by filling out Mr Morgan’s online survey at www.stephenmorgan.org.uk/bigconversation
