Portsmouth MP Stephen Morgan is encouraging donations to The Roberts Centre this year as part of his Christmas card competition.
Mr Morgan recently visited volunteers and staff at The Roberts Centre who provide NACCC enhanced accredited child contact services.
Mr Morgan visited during one of the centre’s Family Time sessions, providing a fantastic opportunity to see first-hand the valuable support The Roberts Centre provides to local families.
The city MP toured the centre with Natalie Whale, Family Tenancy Support and Child Contact Service Manager, learning about The Roberts Centre’s vital services, excellent facilities and the funding challenges they currently face.
Established in 1985, the centre operates from a large building in Crasswell Street, Portsmouth, providing supervised and supported contact sessions, where children and young people can reconnect with non-resident parents/family members following divorce or separation.
With a vast array of toys, games, art equipment and resources suitable for all ages, alongside access to a secure garden from the adjoining Roberts Centre’s Day Nursery (available when the nursery children are not in attendance) the centre provides a safe, welcoming and supportive environment for children to thrive.
Commenting, Portsmouth South MP Stephen Morgan said:
”The Roberts Centre do such great work improving the lives of children and families in Portsmouth.
“It was a pleasure to visit volunteers and staff earlier this month to see the brilliant work they are doing and understand the challenges they’re facing.
“I am delighted to encourage donations to them this year as part of my Christmas card competition. I know Portsmouth people will be as generous as ever in supporting them over the coming weeks.”
