Portsmouth people and businesses were honoured this week at Stephen Morgan and Fratton Together’s annual Inspiring Fratton Awards.
The community awards scheme, launched by Mr Morgan alongside Fratton Together in 2018, celebrates local people and their achievements.
At the awards ceremony at St Mary’s Church, Mr Morgan thanked local residents for enabling the awards to go from strength to strength, and honour so many inspiring Portsmouth people.
Commenting, Portsmouth South MP Stephen Morgan said:
“Growing up in Fratton, I always knew there were so many amazing people in our community, who do so much to help our city, but were rarely given recognition for their efforts.
“That’s why the Inspiring Fratton Awards are always one of the highlights of my year. It is fantastic to celebrate so many great people and organisations who inspire me and many others.
“I want to congratulate this year’s winners and thank all of the Portsmouth people who took the time to nominate the many inspiring people and organisations in our community. It is a shame they can’t all win.”
Commenting on behalf of Fratton Together, Revd Canon Bob White said:
“In the Advent season we have been thinking about what brings light into darkness.
“The Inspiring Fratton Awards are an important recognition of the many people who bring light into our community and who help us to support one another.
“Fratton Together congratulates all who were nominated, and all who work often unrecognised to transform our common life.”
