City MP sets up cross-party group to tackle railway issues

Stephen Morgan joins with South Western MPs from across the house to establish new rail group
MP for Portsmouth South, Stephen Morgan, today launched a new All Party Parliamentary Group on South Western Rail in the House of Commons.
The APPG will focus on issues affecting travellers and commuters on Southwestern Railways and work across parties to hold rail bosses to account and stand up for passengers. Stephen will serve as Vice-Chair alongside fellow MPs Steve Brine, Maria Miller, Alan Mak, and Chair Ed Davey.

Stephen Morgan MP, said:
“I’m pleased to join colleagues from across the political spectrum to improve rail services for people in Portsmouth.
The quality and reliability of trains to and from Portsmouth is a mainstay in my Postbag and I’ll continue to listen to and fight for our commuters.
As Vice-Chair of this new APPG I can up the pressure on the train companies to implement the much-needed improvements that our city is crying out for.”
