Portsmouth MP Stephen Morgan has highlighted the importance of apprenticeships in the city and praised those who offer them as we come to the end of National Apprentice Week.
At The News Business Excellence Awards on February 23, the member of Parliament for Portsmouth South met some of the finalists and congratulated the winner of Apprentice of The Year, Dan Winiarczuk from BAE Systems Maritime Services and also Chloe Hutchins from HSDC who was Highly Commended.
Stephen Morgan MP said:
“University is not for everyone, apprenticeships are a great career choice for those who want to learn on the job and do not want to be saddled with debts from university.
“It’s great that the overall numbers of apprenticeships have gone up across the region and I think we must do everything we can to encourage companies to continue to offer apprenticeships as they can be a great career route.”
