City MP launches NHS ‘thank you’ campaign

By 8 July 2018September 8th, 2022No Comments
Portsmouth South’s Member of Parliament has launched a campaign to recognise the dedication of NHS staff across the city.
The campaign follows celebrations to mark the 70th birthday of the national institution, projects with local schools and the nomination of Rose Bennett, a cleaner at St James’ hospital, who won the national ‘lifetime achievement award’ at a parliamentary ceremony last week.
Constituents of Stephen are being invited to share praise where praise is due in local health services, or for people to come forward to recognise particular individuals in the NHS who have gone the extra mile.
Postcards have been produced for people to pass on their thanks, with Stephen planning to display all returned at the office on Albert Road and presented to those named.

Stephen Morgan MP said:
This year, our most treasured institution celebrates its 70th birthday.

The introduction of the NHS completely transformed people’s lives, giving access to world-class healthcare to all, regardless of their ability to pay.

The NHS takes care of people from the first to the last day of their lives. As we mark its 70th birthday, I want Portsmouth people to have the opportunity to thank the phenomenal NHS staff in our city who have delivered lifesaving work, even in the toughest times.
I hope constituents join me to show our city’s appreciation to those who guide, support and care for us in Portsmouth”.
The thank you cards will be available at events throughout July or by popping into Stephen’s office at 72 Albert Road, Southsea. For contact details visit www.stephenjmorgan.org
