Stephen Morgan MP is inviting constituents to his next Cuppa and Chat event on Saturday 9 November to provide a space for constituents to share their thoughts and concerns on recycling and waste management in Portsmouth.
The coffee morning, taking place from 10:30am-12 noon will have experts on hand to provide information and advice in an informal setting.
Over light refreshments, attendees will have the opportunity to ask experts questions on recycling, and hear what steps are being taken to protect the plant and ensure our streets are clean.
Attendees will have the opportunity to share their experiences, ideas and concerns for Mr Morgan to take back to Westminster.
The event will take place at a venue in the Palmerston Road area. Attendees will be notified of the venue ahead of the event.
Constituents can sign up to attend the coffee morning here.
Commenting on the upcoming event, Portsmouth South MP Stephen Morgan said:
“Recycling and effective waste management systems are essential to reducing pollution, landfill waste, greenhouse gases, and to make our streets clean.
“Unfortunately, Portsmouth has been ranked as one of the worst places in the UK when it comes to waste services, so it is vital urgent action is taken.
“I look forward to speaking with constituents in November to discuss this issue and hear their ideas for how we can make Portsmouth a cleaner city to live in.”
Mr Morgan has vowed to take the concerns raised at the event to Westminster while continuing to support local initiatives that address housing issues in Portsmouth.
Mr Morgan has made protecting Portsmouth’s precious environment one of his top priorities and has been a strong supporter of community initiatives seeking to promote a green and sustainable transition in the local economy.
The Labour government has committed to ending the throwaway society by creating new jobs reusing and recycling materials as we work towards a circular economy that protects nature and our precious climate.
