The Portsmouth South MP has written to headteachers across the constituency encouraging schools to get involved in a creative challenge as part of the city’s Coronation celebrations.

Mr Morgan plans to fill his office window with an array of crowns made by local children to celebrate the King’s Coronation.

Two winners will be selected from a primary and secondary school shortly after and will receive a prize.

To enter the competition pupils should submit their entries to Mr Morgan’s office at 72 Albert Road, Southsea PO5 2SL, by no later than Friday 12 May.

Entrants should also ensure that each crown has the name, age, and name of school on the back.

Launching the competition, Stephen Morgan MP, said:

“The Coronation marks a new chapter in our country’s history, one which will no doubt bring people all across Portsmouth together.

I am keen to involve young people in our city’s Coronation celebrations, which is why I’m encouraging schools to take part in my Design a Crown Competition.

I look forward to seeing young people get creative and design some spectacular crowns!”
