Flytipping at Windsor House, Landport, is an eyesore
Whenever and wherever our local doorstep team is out and about across Charles Dickens ward we keep an eye out for local issues that matter to residents.
Residents have told us that flytipping and the dumping of things like shopping trollies and unwanted furniture is an issue for them – it’s unsightly and gives the impression that no one cares about the local area. Local Labour do.
That’s why every time we see things dumped in our communities we report it to the council or relevant agency.
Thanks to local Labour action we’re helping to clean our communities in the following ways in recent weeks:
- You told us about abandoned Tesco trollies around the Crasswell Street. We reported this to the supermarket and ensured action was taken.
- You told us about the broken down lift at Sarah Robinson House. We contacted Housing Services and kept the pressure on them to get it fixed.
- You told us about the flytipping and eyesore that is Windsor House on the corner of Railway View and Canal Walk. We reported this and the council have issued a Community Protection Notice on the owner of the land and it is now with the council’s legal team for prosecution.
These are just a few examples. We’ll continue to identify local issues and importantly ensure action is taken.
